Ninth Annual Collards Festival & Winter Garden Expo 

January 6, 2024 – 11:00 a.m.

2024 Collards Festival and Winter Garden Expo starting at 11:00 a.m.

Grand Gardens – 5721 Grand Blvd. New Port Richey, featuring FarmNet growers and businesses. The event is hosted by Grand Gardens and New Port Richey FarmNet with a Major Sponsorship from the Rotary Club of New Port Richey. The event is endorsed by Environmental Committee of the City of New Port Richey.


The Ninth Annual Collards Festival & Winter Garden Expo will feature:

  • cool weather produce – featuring collards 
  • bedding plants & seedlings for cool weather
  • Sample tastings of local collard green recipes 
  • Prepared seasonal food items for sale
  • Collard Greens cookbooks 
  • educational program 
  • gardening materials
  • organic and heirloom seeds
  • locally grown vegetable seedlings
  • locally grown loquat fruit trees
  • opportunities to acquire a plot at Grand Gardens
  • promotional t-shirts for local agriculture projects

All produce is from local organic farms and gardens, featuring various types of collard greens and including other cool weather crops: assorted kales, arugula, bok choy, Asian Collards (Peking Ta Ching) – among others. Organizers are expecting broccoli but cannot guarantee it.
Tours and of Grand Gardens will be offered and a program about FarmNet and New Port Richey’s growing urban agriculture project will be presented. 

At the conclusion of the festival, around 1:00 or so, those who are interested will have an opportunity to acquire a plot at Grand Gardens: New Port Richey’s oldest and largest community garden.  Program begins around 12:00 noon. Tours and plot selection from 12:30 to 1:30  

There is no charge to attend and donations will be gratefully received, with 100% of all donations going to FarmNet programming. 

The event is supported and endorsed by the Environmental Committee of New Port Richey and sponsored by the Rotary Club of New Port Richey 

If you have locally-grown, organic, seasonal produce to share with the community, contact us at the Facebook page.  Proposals for produce sharing at the event will be considered – with priority given to FarmNet supporting participants.
