Comment: In their 2013 article, “Local Food Systems in Florida: Consumer Characteristics and Economic Impacts,” authors Alan W. Hodges and Thomas J. Stevens report findings that “suggest that local food systems in Florida are better developed than most other areas of the United States.”   Article was originally published in Proceedings of the Florida State Horticultural Society, 2013 (http://fshs.org/proceedings-x/2013-vol-126/2013-toc.pdf).  The Research is still relevant today, with further development in local food systems likely to have occurred since 2013.
