Ecology Florida Projects and Programs

Projects and Programs:

Established in 2010, Ecology Florida is a not-for-profit (501(c)3) organization dedicated to the restoration of a sustainable world. Our focus is on Florida, with full awareness of the national and global context of all ecologies. We welcome your support of our mission and vision, and our specific projects and programs, including:

  1. Development of a dynamic, user-friendly website featuring news, reviews, editorials, and regular columns on the three ecologies.
  2. Conferences bringing together leaders, teachers, and activists from each of the three ecologies.
  3. A development fund for business start-ups based on the three ecologies in unserved and underserved areas.
  4. Educational events dedicated to sustainable living, public lectures and films, open classes for the public, and sponsorship of activities consistent with our mission. For example, the annual Florida Loquat Festival established in 2014 by Ecology Florida.
  5. Securing a permanent location for Ecology Florida.
  6. Development and support of sustainable agriculture, especially urban agriculture, through our sponsored auxiliary organization, Friendship Farms & Fare.
  7. Publications, including books on Florida’s three ecologies, newsletter/magazines, professional academic journals, literary journals, and various audio and video productions.
  8. Development of a Think Tank and resource library focused on the three ecologies, and their interrelationship.

Would you like to be involved? There is much to do, and volunteers will have many opportunities to contribute to changing our future.

Financial contributions of any amount are also most welcome. With your contribution you will be recognized as a Support of Ecology Florida, added to our mailing list (if you desire), and receive Ecology Florida News, as well as regular updates on our initiatives and projects.
